Grilled Escolar Goes Wild

My favorite shot from the Grgich Hills Food Pairings shoot! This was a tough one as the black bowl the chef selected had an unusually reflective surface. I ended up shooting very close in to minimize the lighting issues, then focused on the frontmost grill lines.

Also love the quality of the ginger and the beautiful reflection in the sauce. woo!

The Google chefs outdid themselves again today. I'm on a bit of a diet so I couldn't eat this beauty, but I truly lusted after it with my camera.

I took this outside to photograph on a thin, white, French ceramic tray in the natural light. I love how the light falls on the ridges in the whipped cream.

First truly foggy day in Santa Barbara. Makes for excellent light.

Today I got up, went hiking, then went to the unbelievable farmers market. Got some vegies. Now taking some pictures in beautiful light.

Heart Shaped World

Ok, I'm sucking at posting! Let me catch you up on things.

Today I'm shooting cereal in a heart shaped bowl for a perspective client.

Last week I shot eight different vegan products for my very first packaging.

Yes, I've had my stuff in books, magazines, newspaper ads, lots of website ads, even a billboard (!) but never have I been lucky enough to shoot packaging. I'm so excited! But then, I'm easily amused... : )

I'm fortunate that I have the best day job in the world so I can continue on with my photography from time to time. Keeps me busy and (mostly) out of trouble!
